Electrolux Pop-Up Restaurant To Tour Around Europe

A mountainside, building roof or centre of a lake certainly aren’t traditional places to open a restaurant, but a new endeavour by Park Associati and Electrolux will challenge the status quo of fine dining.

The Cube will open 31 March, allowing diners to eat in a moveable pavillion at unexpected locations across Europe. The first stop will be in Brussels, atop the Parc du Cinquantenaire.

Two of the semi-transparent and transparent structures have been created and will later venture through Italy, Russia, Switzerland and Sweden – but only for four to 12 weeks in each location.

The Cube, commissioned by Electrolux, can seat 18 diners in the 140 sq m interior. The open space has a visible kitchen and one single table that can disappear when raised into the ceiling, creating a lounge area for post-dining relaxation.

Outside, a 50 sq m terrace will offer what promises to be stunning views – wherever they may be. International chefs will take turns cooking in The Cube kitchen for patrons lucky enough to snag a seat.

The structures have been designed for easy assembly and take-down, like exhibition stands. They’re also eco-friendly and require low energy use.

The project has been completed by Park Associati and Electrolux in conjunction with Absolute Blue and Studio FM.
