Milan 2012: Mermelada Estudio
Barcelona-based industrial design studio Mermelada Estudio showed some of their new products at this year’s Satellite exhibition in Milan.
Especially the Flash mirror caught our attention. Flash is a large round mirror inspired by a photographer’s lamp.
The frame is made from MDF with a milled “diamond cut” decorative motif on the back and a beechwood base.
The mirror frame is finished off in a nude-coloured matte lacquer while a brown leather belt go from leg to leg and hereby reinforce the whole structure.
Another exciting product was the Nansa swing. Based on a wicker basket the indoor swing is made from welded slats finished with gold plate. The swing hangs from above on plaited nautical ropes and the seat is made a from grey upholstered foam block. Nansa comes with or without a backrest.
Mermelada Estudio was co-founded by Juan Miguel (also called Juanmi) Juárez, Laura Blasco and Alex Estévez.
