Marble Strip Lights by Michael Anastassiades
Michael Anastassiades has designed the Marble Strip Lights that were on show at Gallery S. Bensimon at Milan Furniture Fair last month.
Consisting of a handblown tube light inserted into a handcarved slab of white carrara marble, the light can both be suspended from the ceiling as well as hung on the wall.
For a long time, Michael Anastassiades’s work was only available in very limited quantities, in very small production runs manufactured using traditional craftsmanship. In 2007, he launched his own production company and continued to travel around the world to find family companies or workshops to produce his pieces. All his pieces are handmade: the glass is blown, the stone carved, etc.
