Scholten and Baijings for HAY
The collaboration between danish manufacturer Hay and Dutch designers Scholten and Baijings has brought yet another collection with them. So far the collection is to be seen as work in progress where more items will be added to the collection on a regular basis. The first items will be presented at the trade fair Maison&Objet in Paris, January 21-25.
“We are very proud of the results we have achieved in our collaboration with Scholten & Baijings”, says Mette Hjort Hay, co-owner of HAY and creative director of the accessory and rug collections.
“Over the last few years Scholten and Baijings have continuously proved that they are in a league of their own when it comes to colours and patterns. By mixing soft pastels, bright fluorescent colours and graphic prints they have made themselves an exceptional trademark with a unique contemporary identity and wide appeal. By making Scholten & Baijings products available at the same accessible price range as other HAY products we are hoping that the collection will have broad appeal.”
Stefan Scholten and Carole Baijings established their design studio in 2000 and recently received a Dutch Design Award for their tableware and was first runner up for Wallpaper’s Designer of the Year.
