Nørd Chair by David Geckeler

Berlin based design student David Geckeler has created the Nørd Chair.

David explains, “danish for nerd, geek, crank – this describes the main character and design of this chair. Made out of laminated wood assembled without any metal parts it follows the idea of concentrating on the detail and keeping the moulding process down to earth. An important technical and formal feature is that backrest and seat are only stacked together. Every part statically interacts with the other to define a solid structure of laminated shells and parts made out of solid oak wood.”

The chair won the annual design competition with danish design label Muuto and we are now excited to see if they decide to put Nørd Chair into production.
