Norwegian Designer Kristine Five Melvær was one of the young up-and-coming designers showing at the Salone Satellite in Milan in April and her collection was feminine, light and poetic.

Among a variety of objects, was Kristine’s collection of lighting. Called Spring and Ray, the collection is recognizable because of its textile skin that seems skin coloured when switched off and then turns translucent when switched on. The lamps are made from a steel cord structure with an elastic textile coating and have a beautiful and soft feminine glow.

Another object is the Frutti  and Soft Bowls made from hand turned solid beech and walnut. They resemble scandinavian wood bowls from the 60’s but have a modern shape and language to them.

Overall we believe Kristine Five Melvær is one to look out for.
