Deutch designer Kirsten Van Noort experiments with chemistry and ceramics and create amazingly exciting processes and not least results. One of her projects Color Collision experiments with red cabbage glaze and how it changes colour depending of the PH value of the surroundings.

Kirsten explains about the project, “Materials are effected by circumstances. The pigment in red cabbage is subject to a striking change in color when the PH value in the environment changes. When applied to ceramics this results in crockery in unprecedented colors.”

Together with filmmaker Rogier Arents these exhilarating colour changes have been captured on film. Watch it – it’s truly breathtaking.
